Dr. Vyvian Gorbea is the owner of Plymouth Veterinary Hospital, Inc. She earned her bachelor of science (1986) and doctor of veterinary medicine degree (1990) from Michigan State University. In addition, she completed an advanced degree in cardiovascular physiology that led to a Ph.D. (1994). She focuses her interest in small animal medicine, dentistry and surgery. She has received advanced training in veterinary dentistry, oral surgery and pathology at the Animal Dental Center in Baltimore, Maryland. While she is interested in all life stages of animal health, the special bond between people and "senior" pets is special for her. She wants to work with owners to achieve optimum health and quality of life for their pets. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Michigan Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association and the American Veterinary Dental Society. She is married to Scott Oppliger and live in South Lyon with her daughter Lauren and her furry 'best friend' Miss Pinky (shown in the picture above). She enjoys volunteering for her church, watching movies, traveling, reading, walking and watching her daughter fast-pitch softball games. She is interested in nutrition and is a Max International Independent Associate.
Hello, my name is Joyce I am the veterinary hospital manager at Plymouth Veterinary Hospital. Working at Plymouth Veterinary Hospital has been the best experience ever! Our clients are wonderful to visit with and our patients are so pleasant to be around. My previous experience was primarily in retail and retail management. I came to the practice 12 years ago and worked with the previous owners Dr. Steve and Mary Beth Leininger. I have worked with Dr. Gorbea since she acquired the practice and I really love working with her, managing her practice and our wonderful health care team. I have being married to Larry for over 35 years and I have 3 children. Woodie is a chef in Colorado, Bryan is an electrical engineer for Panasonic in Georgia and Brittany is my youngest daughter. I have an Australian Shepard mix named Rocky. My favorite past time is being with my family, playing with my dogs, boating, walks, and landscaping at home.
Hello, my name is Sarah I am a licensed veterinary technician at Plymouth Veterinary Hospital. I graduated from Baker College veterinary technician program in 2008. I have two cats named Arlanna and Savannah they are my babies. A third kitten may be on the way soon. I am looking forward to meeting everyone at Plymouth Veterinary Hospital.
Hello, my name is Sharon, and I am one of the newest additions to the Plymouth Veterinary Hospital staff. I have been in the veterinary field since the year 2000, and this is definitely my calling! I started out working in an emergency veterinary clinic, where I worked for six years. Afterwards, I started working at a local day-clinic, and now I am happily working at Plymouth Veterinary Hospital as a Veterinary Technician. I have been married for 25+ years to my husband, Ron, and I have two children; my son, Andrew, is a Corporal, HMX-1, USMC, and my daughter, Katy, is a student at the University of Michigan. My other children are two dogs, Cooper and Louie, and six cats. I look forward to meeting and working with all of our four-legged friends soon!
Hello my name is Gina and I am very happy to be a receptionist at Plymouth Veterinary Hospital. It is my pleasure to assists all our clients, both human and animal. Previously, I have worked at the Dearborn Animal Shelter as well as in the Mortgage industry and the fields of marketing and retailing. Happily married for over 25 years, my husband Grant and I like to spend time traveling, bowling, watching movies and visiting with family and friends. We have one daughter, Shanna, who just graduated from Central Michigan University with a degree in Psychology. We also share our home with twin kitties, Wednesday and Newton.
