  • Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services:  Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.
  • Surgical Services:  Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures.  Dr. John Gumbs is also available to perform more complicated procedures such as cruciate repair, fracture surgery, disc surgery, and more complicated surgical procedures.  
  • Anesthesia:  We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide that extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored during all anesthetic procedures.
  • Radiology Services:  Our on-site, modern X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the diagnosis of many disorders.
  • Electrocardiography Services:  We provide ECG services on-site as well as consultations with cardiology specialists.
  • Laboratory:  Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize a commercial veterinary laboratory for specialized diagnostics and consultations.
  • Pharmacy:  We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet.
  • Dentistry:  Our dental services include dental prophylaxis, dental treatments and oral surgery.  We are also equipped with a digital dental radiology unit.  This allows us to quickly take dental radiographs and evaluate for dental abnormalities. 
  • Individualized Flea and Tick Control Programs:  We develop programs for the specific needs of your pet and your own particular environmental situation. We will review with you the best ways to control fleas in your house, in your yard and on your pet.
  • Dietary Counseling:  We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance. For healthy cats and dogs we recommend Life's Abundance Pet Foods.   In addition, we utilize Prescription Hills formulas as therapeutic nutrition for pets with specific diseases.  
  • Behavioral Counseling:  We can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.
  • Acupuncture:  Acupuncture may be defined as the insertion of needles into specific points on the body to cause a desired healing effect.  We are currently providing this service to our small animals.  Acupuncture will assist the body to heal by affecting physiological changes.

  • Glaucoma Screening: With our state of the art Tono-Pen XL we are now able to easily screen for this multifactorial disease characterized by an elevation of intraocular pressure.  Glaucoma screening is also part of our complete physical examination.
  • Microchipping:  Microchipping is a safe and permanent form of identification that helps animal shelters (both nonprofit and municipal) reunite lost companion animals with their guardians.  Microchipping is recommended for all dogs and cats in conjunction with the use of a collar and identification tag and/or license.  Microchipping is a quick and simple procedure that is similar to giving a vaccination.  Microchipping is offered during a regular veterinary appointment.

Dr. Vyvian Gorbea performing surgery on our surgical suite.  During all our surgical procedures our patients are  monitored with a pulse oxymeter (measures the oxygen in the blood), heart monitors and a blood pressure monitor.  In addition all surgeries are assisted by our licensed veterinary technician and/or our trained veterinary assistants.  


Our licensed veterinary technician perform the dental prophylaxis.  Dr. Gorbea performs all the dental treatments and oral surgery.  Our technicians gently scale the teeth, polish them, and apply the SANOS dental sealant.  If the patients needs additional dental treatments such as extractions  Dr. Gorbea takes over and performs those procedures.  All patients are carefully monitored by our veterinary assistants or veterinary technicians.  In addition, we are capable of taking digital dental x-rays and detect dental disease that previously remained undetected.

This is our intensive care unit.  This unit is utilized when the patients have to be supervised more carefully by our staff.  The unit can provide a heated floor in the bottom or a cooled unit in the top.  In addition we can administer oxygen in the top unit for pets that are having difficulty breathing.  We utilize this unit very frequently after surgery to monitor our patients and to keep them comfortable.


This is our modern x-ray equipment.  In our facility we are able to take high quality radiographs.  Radiographs aid in evaluation of many disorders.

This is our mobile dental radiology unit.  With this unit we are able to take high quality dental radiographs.  We are able to detect dental disease that lies under the gum line.
