Hi, I'm Dr. Joann Swatek! I really look forward to meeting you and your pet and having you become a part of the Plymouth Veterinary Hospital family.

Dr. Vyvian Gorbea

DVM, PhD

After 25 years of ownership, I have passed the leadership of Plymouth Veterinary Hospital to Dr. Joann Swatek, who became the new owner in May 2025. I am excited about this new chapter for Plymouth Veterinary Hospital and plan to continue working in a limited capacity.

Angela has over 20 years of experience in Shelter, Rescue, and Veterinary Medicine. Angela has had a love and connection with animals from a young age and cannot imagine a career in any other field of work. She loves her fur babies, three dogs, one cat, and all her rescues throughout the years.

Carlos was born and raised in Detroit, Mi coming from Mexican parents.

Claire has worked here since mid-2020. She just graduated high school in 2021 and planned to attend college at the University of Michigan.  She loves all animals but truly has a passion for horses and has been riding for nine years.

I discovered my passion for helping animals at a young age, and it has been a lifelong journey ever since. Fortunately, I became certified as a Veterinary Assistant through my high school in Florida, which provided me with a solid foundation to pursue my dreams.

After my time in the United States Naval Service, I sought a career that I could find equally fulfilling, and I discovered that in animal welfare.

Lucy is a returning employee finishing her undergraduate degree in Pre-Veterinary Studies. She plans to attend Veterinary School afterward. Lucy enjoys spending time with her dog, two cats, and husband.
